Scrambling classes (not eggs) is now a thing of the past.  Nooks have finally arrived at Wesley Chapel Elementary.  After working diligently to gain the software necessary to properly assist our students with understanding the Common Core Standards, the staff and teachers found themselves in a conundrum.  What the school was able to gain was essentially a loss at the same time. Our excitement on the software we acquired was short-lived. WCES suddenly realized it didn’t have the proper technology necessary for all the students to be able to use the programs successfully on a daily basis.  Like great strategists, we rotated the computer lab times, adjusted schedules, and flip-flopped all we could, (excluding pancakes).  After tireless months of rerouting our lives, we were cooked and needed a miracle.  And fast.

From out of the kitchen, stormed some great tech chefs.  SAC, PTA, and the music department offered their assistance and baked up a plan.  Teaming up with WCHS, these “knights in shining armor” took on the task of raising the “dough” for classroom NOOKS.  In the end, each classroom at our school is now hooked up with 3 Nooks to use all day, every day.  Students don’t have to wait anymore for an assigned weekly “lab” time to work on reading or their individual needs through the standards.

Three is just the beginning of a grand buffet.  Our vision is to eventually acquire 5 per classroom, one byte at a time.  Already, our students have been introduced to the devices and are hungry for more.  They are able to work on their journey through the standards at a faster pace, which makes teachers and parents alike very satisfied.  Please help us fill more pallets by donating your old nooks to Wesley Chapel Elementary or choosing to sponsor a classroom.  We promise to eat them up (not literally).
